Roger is Professor of Equine Orthopaedics at the Royal Veterinary College (RVC) where divides his time between providing specialist orthopaedic referral services and runs a research group at the RVC focused on equine

tendon disease and has more than 30 years’ experience in both lab-based and clinical research.

Roger qualified as a veterinary surgeon from Cambridge University in 1987. Following his residency, he completed a PhD and has remained at the Royal Veterinary College, gaining appointment as Professor in Equine Orthopaedics in 2003.  He holds the Diploma of Equine Orthopaedics from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and is a Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Specialist in Equine Surgery.  He is a Diplomate of the European Colleges of Veterinary Surgeons and Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation, and is also a Large Animal Associate of the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging.

Roger is married, with two children, four grandchildren, and is a keen motor enthusiast and sportsman.
